Lewis Hayden was one of Boston's most active anti-slavery organizers and Underground Railroad conductors.

Hamilton Smith

Family Membership

 

Hamilton Sutton Smith

was the son of Boston abolitionist John J. Smith and a dentist, lawyer, and photographer. His set of

over 1,000 photographs is

in the Museum's collection.

Josephine Ruffin

Preservation Membership

 

Josephine St. Pierre Ruffin was a recruiter for the 54th Regiment.  She went on to be a journalist and co-founder of the
