An exhibition of 18th and 19th centuries artifacts found in the walls of a Nantucket home including shoes, clothing and household items that provide clues about early life on the island.

“Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory: from Douglass to Deliverance” with André DeShields
Award-winning actor, André DeShields will appear on Nantucket Island on July 12 and July 13. Proceeds to benefit the Museum of African American History (MAAH) African Meeting House on Nantucket, the Nantucket Historical Association (NHA), and the Theatre Workshop of Nantucket.

Along the Southern Freedom Trail with Robert Smalls
Lecture by Dr. Bernard Powers, Professor of History, College of Charleston (South Carolina).
Dr. Powers wrote Black Charlestonians: A Social History 1822-1885 and served as an associate editor for The South Carolina Encyclopedia. He appeared in the segment about Robert Smalls in PBS film series, Slavery in the Making of America.
